Trekking day 11, 18th of October.
We pass 6 suspension bridges in the trek back to Lukla. There are some ascents, but much fewer and less strenuous compared to yesterday. We have now had 4 days with continuous long treks and are looking forward to more comfortable beds.
We celebrate the journey and achievements together with all the local guides and carriers, who have been very helpful throughout the trek. Most of us order chicken sizzler, which is frying with heavy steam when served. The dining hall almost becomes foggy – ‘luckily’ that no fire alarms are installed.
A few speeches round the dinner, and I have also got the idea to get our Danish flag ‘Dannebrog’ up on the wall in the dining hall. It’s the same flag as I brought for the photos at Kala Patthar. Everyone is enthusiastic about the idea and we all sign it together with our new local friends. You can see it in Khumbu Resort when you get to Lukla 😉
